Testimonials

“The landscaping of my garden had been on my mind for a couple of years. Although I had some ideas of what I wanted, I really could not visualise it and put them together, and I asked Gerald from G A Landscapes for help.

Gerald took time to listen to what I had in mind and discussed every aspect of the development.  His knowledge and professional approach gave me complete confidence to appoint him to transform my garden.

Gerald and his team worked in an efficient, tidy manner and were on the job every day from the time they started and at all times the team were very professional, hard working and courteous.

Not only have I now got the garden I have always wanted, but Gerald has exceeded my highest expectations in every aspect of creating my outside haven.

I would highly recommend G A Landscapes.”

“I have used Gerald and his landscaping company on two occasions in the last couple of years and have been really happy with the results.  I have found him and the people he employs to be very skilled and helpful.   They are also friendly and lovely to have around, which makes a big difference.

The last occasion involved the complete reconstruction of my rear garden and I was really impressed with the effort, problem solving and attention to detail that went into executing the design.

I have recommended G A Landscapes and will continue to do so.”

“This garden was slightly challenging as it could be accessed from different levels and as with many small London gardens the clients wished to maximise the space for entertaining and for the children to play in, while also wishing for a nice view from the first floor kitchen and terrace.

Gerald was fantastic when going through the plans with the clients, and myself as the garden designer, and coming up with design solutions and ideas of different materials. The finished garden looks fantastic and now the clients have a garden which they can view, use and enjoy.

Gerald is a talented builder with an eye for detail and design while also having fantastic horticultural expertise. He is great to work with being very approachable, reliable, adaptable, hard working and with good sense of humour!

I have and will certainly recommend him to build gardens in the future.”

Rachel Hartley, Garden Designer

“I have worked on various projects with Gerald over the years. He has considerable experience and in depth construction and planting knowledge and I can rely on him to have practical solutions to any design challenges that may arise.

He is a good communicator which is imperative if the relationship between designer, landscaper and client is to be a good one and we have developed a very good working relationship.

All Gerald’s projects are built to a very high standard, on time and on budget and he is integral in the translation of my designs into beautiful gardens.”

Shelley Hugh-Jones, Garden Designer

“Brackenwood is a 20th large family home built in the style of a French country ‘Maison de Maitre’ with numerous period features including clay pantile roofing and wrought iron juliette balconies. Having undergone extensive renovations, the brief was a complete redesign of the 3/4 acre gardens. The key functional requirements were:- Primary seating close to the kitchen; carriage driveway in granite blocks; integration of swimming pool patio; integration of outdoor kitchen; full illumination scheme; naturalistic woodland garden; concealed area for young children, trampoline etc. These requirements were to be complimented with a naturalistic, loose planting scheme offering year-round interest and a primarily cool, harmonious colour scheme.

Gerald and his team were critical in delivering a complex brief to exacting customer standards.  The installation of the hard landscaping took place in harsh winter months with snow and frost to contend with. Gerald and his team showed flexibility and skill in ensuring the materials were laid to the highest possible standard throughout these conditions – often working in snowfall, which is not ideal. The customer appreciated their dedication throughout the project and as a designer, I did not need to micro-manage the project – I knew that Gerald and his team would do the job properly first time.”

“Gerald is a great worker with good vision and boundless energy has completed several garden projects for us over the years including the creation of a beech arch which is much admired and copied!

His resourceful way of utilising materials helped overcome the difficult design challenges with outstanding results.”

“Gerald Abrahams of GA Landscapes has done masses of work for us in our six acre country garden over the last 10 years. We built a new house in an area of our garden and January 2009 gave Gerald the job of creating a lovely garden from the bare, empty muddy plot that we were left with post construction.

He did a fantastic job and gave the new house a beautiful garden full of interest and character. He designed a large stepped terrace and lots of large shaped flower beds and set off the front off the house to great advantage with an impressively planted driveway with architectural trees and mature shrubs.

He and his team worked tirelessly for three months often in atrocious weather and completed a stunning garden that enhanced the house we had designed and built. Our new neighbours were thrilled with the garden and now, in its fifth year it has matured into a wonderfully pretty and interesting garden sitting beautifully within its semi-rural setting.

We would recommend GA Landscapes to anybody looking to develop and enhance their garden.”

“The Claygate War Memorial was built in 1921 to commemorate those forty four men from the Village who gave their lives in the First World War. Gradually over time the yew hedge had become overgrown and infested with other species, the paving was cracked and uneven, and overall it was looking ‘unloved’ and certainly hidden from the road.

The idea came from Claygate in Bloom committee in 2012 to restore the garden and paving to make a fitting contribution to the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee and also to mark the Centenary of WW1 in 2014.

Gerald Abrahams of GA Landscaping was a great support and help throughout the process with his knowledge of stone, landscaping and planting, and completed the work in record time . The finished product is there for future generations and is a very good addition to the Heritage of Claygate.”
